Born on January 13, 1983 in Santiago de Chile. He was 14 years old when he appeared on stage for the first time and two years later he joined a circus company “Diabolo del Circo” with which he toured all of South America.

Back in Chile he studied for two years at the school "La Mancha" in Santiago de Chile and since there was no circus school in the country, he moved to Spain to study in schools of Barcelona and Madrid. Thereafter he travelled to Paris to continue his formation at the "École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq”.

After working into contemporary circus and clown festivals in several European countries, he was hired as a clown at Cirque du Soleil's show "Totem", with which he toured the United States and Canada between 2013 and 2014.

In 2016 he participated in the International “Golden Trick Circus Festival" in Odessa (Ukraine). Then he toured Chile as a clown of the "Hadal" show, presented in large escenarios with production by Seven communications Jumbo.

Shortly after, he participated in the sixth edition of the International Circus Festival "Elefante de Oro" held in Figueres (Girona), where he won the Totó Prize.

For years, he has taught his lessons, based on error as an interpretive force, in workshops organized by his own production company "Baltabarín Productions" based in Barcelona.

In recent years he has specialized in the creation and direction of companies such as "Le Fracàs Teatro", for which he wrote a play "Todos los clowns se van al cielo” (“All the clowns go to heaven”), and events such as festival "Primavera Clown" in Santiago de Chile. He has been the stage director of well-known musical groups in his country such as the “Conmoción Band” and regidor of the show “Baliardo” by Gipsy Kings presented in Castellón last May 2019.

He has been a creative director at corporate events for FOX tv and he was the co-owner and artistic director of “Cirkuz Land”, a dinner-show experience located in Barcelona.

The character

Baltabarín is a character inspired by an error as an interpretive force, a character full of fears and prejudices, a collector of failures that makes fun of himself. It is the result of years of study on comedy and also of the human mind, due to the help of his father, owner and administrator of several psychiatric centers that gave him the opportunity to interact with psychiatrists and patients at an early age.

Baltabarín is an original eccentric that does not pretend to be the copy of any other: a boy in a body of man who expresses his emotions without a need to use a word, a circumstance that makes him understandable to all audiences. His style has been created from his own experiences, supported by the technical training that he learned at the Theater School of Jacques Lecoq, as well as by the observation of the great masters such as Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd and Mr Bean.

Baltabarín is above all a character that distills humanity: a Don Quixote who fights for a better world. It`s not enough for him to make an audience laugh and sometimes cry, his reprises are like comic tales that carry with them a moralizing background. When he invites a spectator on the stage, he/she becomes his accomplice, a co-worker whom he never ridicules. His acts are simple and lack downtime, each action takes on a meaning within a precise timing like a Swiss watch.

Baltabarín manages, thanks to his authenticity, genius and fragility, to reach the heart of the spectators as if he knew them from all his life.
