TIME TO ACTION
The beach chair

How to open a beach chair

The lounger

This reprise is inspired by the work of George Karl, master in achieving comicality thanks to

situations as absurd as accidentally becoming entangled with the cable of his own microphone. Baltabarín shows us that he is a clumsy character, capable of complicating to

unsuspected limits such a simple task as deploying a beach lounger.

“The Family”

Tragicomedy “The Family”, Improvisation together with
Jazz Gitano Band

In this tender reprise Baltabarín transmits to us the sadness of loneliness and the need that

we all have to have someone at our side who loves us. To do this, he has the complicity of a few spectators, chosen at random, who will only increase the emotionality of this tragicomedy that brings smiles and tears. A man from the audience becomes his rival to get

the love of a woman and three children, his new family who, eventually he will end up losing.

Baltabarín manages to illustrate and transmit with gestures one of the most brilliant phrases

of The Little Prince: “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye”.

Super juggler

In this reprise Baltabarín transmits to the audience that we need to show ourselves to others as we are, without being afraid of ridicule. He illustrates that with an effort and dedication, one can achieve whatever you want, in this case become a juggler who ingenuously manages to juggle with 9 maces.

Connecting with the audience

The wedding

Baltabarín never gives up in his own searching for true love, showing us how to conquer the

heart of a woman with the best weapon of seduction that exists: a comedy. He will select a

spectator whom he will try to impress by inviting her to take a ride in his imaginary car,

driving it to a hidden place where he will seduce her with the help of the songs on the radio.

The ending of this reprise will be victorious, Baltabarín will take a woman to the altar.

The Boxing ring

At first sight, a reprise of a boxer is a parody of a boxing match but at heart it is a criticism to those people who magnify their problems being victims of their negative emotions.

Baltabarín illustrates how negativity can turn us into our worst enemies, like the boxer who fights against himself. In the end Baltabarín wins the match, gesturally illustrating and

transmitting the wise advice of Confucius: “Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall”.
